Probate and Estate Administration

The loss of a parent, child, sibling, or any other loved one is difficult enough, and you should not have to go through this loss alone. We provide compassion and peace of mind for grieving executors by helping them navigate the legal process after a loss.   This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Probate in Montgomery County Register of Wills or Bucks County Register of Wills

  • Complete and handle all probate-related filings and arrange for the legal advertising of the estate

  • Assist with closing/transferring all assets

  • Assist with sale of real estate alongside realtor or title company

  • Assist with reconciling outstanding debts/liabilities

  • Prepare PA inheritance tax return

  • Prepare required estate accounting and facilitate final distribution of estate

Before you start contacting banks, beneficiaries, and creditors, you should contact a probate attorney right away to make sure you don't make any timely or costly mistakes.
*Please note that we do not handle litigation matters, but can provide names of attorneys if needed.

Small Estates and Non-Probate Estates

In some cases, probate is not necessary. This may be because the estate is small and fits within one of the exceptions to probate or because all of the assets are all considered "non-probate".  In either case, there are still issues that need to be addressed, such as filing for a small estate, preparing and filing the inheritance tax return (non-probate assets are subject to this tax), and addressing any outstanding accounts or bills.  Before you probate, it's always best to consult with an estate attorney to determine if probate is even necessary. We are here to help with probate and non-probate matters.

Generally speaking, estates fall within the following:
1. Very Small Estate, typically when assets total less than $20,000
2. Small Estate, assets total less than $50,000 (and do not include real estate)
3. Moderate to Large Estate, assets total more than $50,000
